The tray of square shape, with recessed edges resting on four short feet, intricately carved through layers of cinnabar red lacquer, featuring an interlocking geometric pattern. This design is framed by a ‘leiwen’ scroll border and further enclosed by a thick band of auspicious motifs, including peaches and bats, set against a swastika-patterned ground, symbolising ‘ten thousand’. The exterior is similarly adorned, while the base is lacquered in black, resting on four short feet.
